Built in traditional architectural style, this original family compound has been transformed into 7 exquisite guestrooms The thatched roof of the dining room blends with the natural scenery allowing view of rural life and the ever-present colorful religious ceremonies.
The swimming pool amongst rice paddies and orchid garden along with the unobtrusive hospitality of the Balinese staff completes this ultimate experience of serenity.
Bali, the star jewel of the fabled Spice Islands, is a masterpiece of nature. Age-old community rice farming blends carefully manicured terraced rice fields with the lush tropical forest. Towering volcanic peaks afford spectacular views of the deep ravines. Puri Bagus Manggis is located directly in the center of the traditional village of Manggis, the easternmost district of Karangasem, allowing first hand in sights of this island paradise.
Holding sites of diverse tourist interest, such as the historic remains of the Royal Water Place at Tirta Gangga, and the Village of Tenganan, a walled-in home to the original Balinese, the Bali Aga community just a few minutes drives from the hotel. Natural landscapes of Sidemen and Iseh are a source of artistic inspiration. Trekking through the terraced rice paddies in the very region of Manggis and the nearby world renowned diving site at Tulamben where the USS Liberty sunk during WW II are experience not to be missed.
The rooms at Puri Bagus Manggis are beautifully decorated with touches of traditional Bali such as rich teak wood furniture and marble floors, front terraces open onto landscaped rice fields.
